Atlanta

Waddup Everyone,

Just got back from a week long trip to the A, in case you couldn't tell from the title, that is Atlanta, Georgia. Was down there on a business trip for my company with some of the other guys in the office. I won't speak on their behalf but I learned a lot ranging from how to be a leader and how to be successful in my craft no matter what that may be.

Starting with how to be a leader my most important takeaway was that in a leadership position you are still growing and learning just in a different way. This time you grow and learn through teaching people to do what you do and more. I was told that training someone to do what you do makes you both better and I believe it. When you think about that critically you understand that teaching someone to do something is the most effective way to master it rather than doing the same thing over and over again (even though the experience from that still improves your "game"). Simply put, get good enough a whatever it is that you are doing so you can pass on that information to someone else.

Another big takeaway from the trip was the importance of networking. I created so many valuable connections in a week its not even funny. Both people that are further along in life than I am and people that I am a little further than. Now, this doesn't mean that I am going to be texting these people all day every day but it does mean if I have something I want to talk to them about I can confidently reach out and expect a quality response, and vice versa.

Long story short it was a successful trip. The team hit our goals and expectations and we were able to get out and experience the city. The stories and moments that I gained from the week are invaluable and will benefit me in the long run. Happy Sunday and I will be back next week.
