Love yourself

"Everyone of us needs to show how much we care for each other and, in the process, care for ourselves." -Princess Diana of Wales

It is hard for us to love other people when we cannot love ourselves. Likewise, it is hard to hate other people when we do not hate ourselves. As I like to say, water your own grass before you water the grass of others. What does this all mean? It means that you need to learn to love yourself, enjoy your own company, compliment the things you do well before you can do any of those things with another person. Naturally, there are some exceptions and maybe there are even people out there that find the love you have inside of you but for the majority of people this is not the case.

Recently I have come across some hardships with friends, partners, family etc. in which I really struggled to show any sort of support or care. I had the self realization that I did not care about myself, what I was doing, where I was going. So it made sense to me that I had no care for anyone else. Now that I am walking this path, and taking into consideration my own wants and needs before others it has opened my eyes to the problem rather than the solution. And when you can understand the problem, it is much easier to find the solution. That goes with anything in life.

Today I want you to spend time looking in the mirror, staring into your own eyes and find something that you truly love about yourself. Could be anything, just not nothing. Take this aspect and compliment it, write it down and remind yourself about it everyday. Maybe even try to find something new everyday. Be great.
